It gives a highly durable, non-staining, dry lubrication film that prevents wear on moving parts. Food Lube is formulated to reduce your maintenance and downtime costs and the number of lubricants currently in use. Treats seized parts and prevents the formation of rust and other corrosives. It’s long-lasting lubrication is resistant to high pressures, water wash-off and will not attract dirt, dust and other abrasives.
Application areas
For the lubrication of chains, cables, sliding tracks, joints, pivots, cams, belts, elevators, pulleys, threaded parts, bolts, rollers, taps, valves, conveyors and many other moving parts operating in food-stuff environment.
Instructions for use
Shake or stir before use according to the size of the packaging. Use aerosol from a vertical (upright or upside down) position only. Parts should be cleaned first with a solvent or alkaline cleaning agent. Spray Interflon Food Lube onto parts such as cables and chains and allow to penetrate. Wipe off the excess of lubricant with a clean cloth. When applied in an automatic lubrication system, an agitation system is required. Please consult your technical advisor for more specific details. Note: do not use too much Interflon Food Lube. Applying a thin layer, with occasional re-lubrication, gives a better result than a thick layer.

Safety & Compliance
What is MicPol® technology
MicPol® technology is Interflon’s unique technology that strengthens and improves the original properties of the lubricants. MicPol® is a combination of micronization and polarization. Micronization is a process where components of the lubricant are reduced in such a way that they can penetrate all pores and sub-pores of a surface to be lubricated. Polarization is the components that are charged during the production process. This ensures a unique adhesion to the surfaces to be lubricated. Advantages of MicPol® include;
- Longer lasting lubrication (extends PM intervals)
- Runs at much lower friction than conventional or synthetic oils
- Dirt, sand and water repellent
- Lubricant lasts longer (less oil needed)
- Better resistance to high pressure and loads
NSF H1 is a registration category issued by NSF International for lubricants used in food processing environments where incidental contact with food is possible. An NSF H1 lubricant must be formulated from ingredients that are approved for use in food processing facilities and must not exceed 10 ppm in food products. NSF H1 certification gives food manufacturers, auditors, and HACCP teams confidence that the lubricant meets strict safety and regulatory standards. Interflon Food Lube aerosol carries this NSF H1 registration, making it compliant for use in facilities subject to food safety audits.
Yes. Interflon Food Lube is certified NSF H1, which is the internationally recognized classification for lubricants approved for incidental food contact. This means it can be used on equipment where there is a possibility that the lubricant may come into contact with food or food surfaces, provided the amount does not exceed 10 parts per million (ppm) in the end product. It is non-toxic, non-staining, and contains Interflon's proprietary MicPol® technology. For surfaces with direct and intentional food contact, an H3 or 3H-rated product should be used instead.
MicPol® is Interflon's proprietary surface-conditioning technology incorporated into all Interflon lubricants. It works at a microscopic level to bond to metal surfaces, reducing friction, wear, and energy consumption more effectively than conventional lubricants. The result is a thinner, more durable lubricating film that penetrates hard-to-reach areas, lasts longer between reapplications, and resists water wash-off and contamination. MicPol® is what differentiates Food Lube from standard food grade spray lubricants on the market.
MicPol® Technology is a key component in many Interflon products, enhancing their performance in various applications. It involves the use of very small and polarized particles that create a durable, low-friction film on surfaces.
The name MicPol is a combination of micronization and polarization.
Micronization is part of a unique process, the components of the lubricant are reduced to such size that they are able to penetrate into all pores and sub-pores of the surface to be lubricated. This enables them to form a much better homogeneous barrier between moving parts (lubricating film).
Polarization happens during the production process when all components are given a charge. This ensures a unique adhesion to the surfaces to be lubricated. In addition, Interflon has succeeded in charging part of the base oil as well. This is called a bonding bridge and provides better resistance to high pressures as well.
Key Benefits:
- Superior Reduction of Friction and Wear
- Energy Efficiency
- Temperature Reduction
- Protection Against Contaminants
- Long-Lasting Lubrication
- Emergency Lubrication Properties
Food Lube aerosol is a certified NSF H1 food grade lubricant spray formulated for use in food processing, packaging, and beverage production environments. It is designed to lubricate chains, cables, conveyors, sliding tracks, joints, pivots, cams, belts, pulleys, rollers, valves, and other moving parts that operate in or near food production areas. Its dry-film formula penetrates deeply, reduces friction and wear, and leaves a long-lasting, non-staining protective layer — making it one of the most versatile food safe lubricant sprays available for industrial maintenance teams.
Yes. Food Lube aerosol is PFAS-free, in line with Interflon's company-wide commitment to PFAS-free lubrication solutions. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of synthetic chemicals under increasing regulatory scrutiny due to environmental persistence and potential health concerns. Choosing a PFAS-free food grade lubricant like Food Lube helps food manufacturers stay ahead of evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining high lubrication performance.
Interflon Food Lube is used across a broad range of industries where food safety compliance and reliable equipment maintenance go hand in hand, including:
- Food processing — meat, poultry, dairy, fish, and bakery production
- Beverage manufacturing — bottling lines, filling equipment, and conveyors
- Packaging — labeling machines, wrapping equipment, and packaging lines
- Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production — where clean, NSF-registered lubricants are required
- Fresh produce and cold storage — conveyors and handling equipment in refrigerated environments
Its versatility across industries makes it a go-to food safe lubricant spray for maintenance managers looking to consolidate their lubricant inventory.
Interflon Food Lube aerosol is suitable for a wide range of components and surfaces found in food processing and packaging equipment, including:
- Chains, drive chains, and conveyors
- Cables and sliding tracks
- Bearings, rollers, and bushings
- Joints, pivots, cams, and hinges
- Belts, pulleys, and elevators
- Threaded parts, bolts, taps, and valves
It is compatible with most metals, and its non-staining, dry-film formula makes it safe to use near food packaging materials, plastics, and most rubbers. Always refer to the Technical Data Sheet for full material compatibility information.
Food Lube forms a highly durable dry film that is resistant to water wash-off, high humidity, and contamination — all common challenges in food processing environments. The interval between reapplications depends on operating conditions such as temperature, load, speed, and wash-down frequency. In most applications, Food Lube outlasts conventional food grade spray lubricants significantly, reducing maintenance frequency and total lubricant consumption. For optimal lubrication intervals, consult your Interflon technical advisor.
